Also, we received an unexpected package in the mail from Children's Hospital. It was a DVD of Owen's operation! It is shot very close in, so all you can see is the heart itself. Since you don't know who (or often even what) you are looking at, it has a somewhat abstract and clinical feel. It was interesting to see how they repaired the heart--we could see the stitches and the patch itself being secured.

An amazing thing happened today... I received a card from Owen's grandma (Lydia) thanking us for a toddler swing we gave to your family through the Northshore Store. What is amazing is that my husband had the exact same heart condition when he was born 34 years ago, and had open heart surgery at 8 months old, and second surgery at 2 1/2 years. Isn't it amazing who God brings into our lives??!! Best wishes and many blessings to you and your family. I pray the rest of Owen's recovery will be uneventful, and that he will experience complete healing, as my husband did!
Owen is looking great. And what a special gift from Children's. Owen can see his own surgery when he gets older. And we look forward to seeing it, too.

What a cool surprise! Owen's heart is a movie star. : ) Judging by Owen's coloring, I think he'll be an artist.
