Tuesday Update

Thank you for your prayers for Owen. He is looking and feeling much better today. He is doing so well that they have removed almost all of his tubes and wires. His heart rhythm is very good so he is totally off the pacemaker. Today we can hold him, and he is eating on his own. He seems much more like his normal self--talking, pointing at things he wants, drinking from his cup, etc. Right now he is relaxing in mom's arms. We are hoping to move from the ICU to a regular patient room in the next day or so.

Last night was more challenging. He didn't seem to respond well to the pain medications and spent many hours fussing and crying. None of us got much rest. But now that he is off most of the meds, he seems much happier. Please pray that we can rest today and tonight.

Dear Lord, we lift Owen, Jon and Amy, and Clara up to you for protection, for rest and for restored health for all. We praise you, Lord, that you have brought Owen through this operation so well. All honor, all praise goes to you, Lord. Thank you for surrounding this family with brothers and sisters in the Lord, that they may see You work, for this family being a godly witness of Your love and providence. May the doctors and nurses truly see a miracle in little Owen. You are the Miracle worker.. Amen

Jon and Amy, I so appreciate the web in times like this and appreciate your efforts to keep all of us updated! It is good to hear of Owen's progress and know how to specifically pray for you. "See the Sovereign Lord come with power...He tends His flock like a shepherd; He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart; He gently leads those who have young!" Isaiah 40. May you each find REST and peace close to His heart! Sending my love and big hugs from Portland!
